In 1997, Raging River Counterworks quietly created a waterproof wood countertop that
changed the kitchen
& bath industry!
Our proprietary WATERSHED Finish allows wood counters (kitchen islands, wetbars and vanities)
with integrated sinks to become a practical reality. Unlike generic butcherblock countertops, these ‘furniture quality’
counters rival granite in beauty and uniqueness; yet
have a warm, tactile quality quite unlike stone.
As is well known in production
woodworking, building is the craft, but finishing is the art!
The WATERSHED Finish is derived from
well-tested, wooden
boat-building technology.
It starts with a fully saturated, epoxy base
coat to seal and fortify the wood fibers,
followed
by rich glazes, and finally, multiple coats of high-tech, catalyzed polyurethane. The result of this
ten-step process
is
a highly durable
finish full of depth
and nuance and
absolutely unique
to the wood
countertop
industry.
